Frequently asked questions
During your first session, also known as an assessment session, I will gather detailed information about your history, current challenges, and goals. This may include discussing your medical, psychological, and social history. The primary purpose of this session is to build a thorough understanding of your unique situation to tailor an effective treatment plan.
Subsequent sessions are more focused on therapy and progress evaluation. In these sessions, I will work with you to address the identified issues and implement strategies to help you achieve your goals. Techniques and approaches may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences, but common methods include cognitive-behavioural therapy, schema therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based practices. Progress will be reviewed regularly to ensure that you are on track, and treatment plans may be adjusted as needed to ensure the best outcomes.
The number of sessions needed varies depending on individual circumstances and the nature of the issues being addressed. Typically, for some clients, short-term therapy can be effective and may range from 6 to 12 sessions. However, for more complex or deep-seated issues, a longer-term approach may be necessary, potentially extending beyond 12 sessions.
During your initial consultation, I will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. Regular reviews and progress assessments will help determine the most appropriate length of treatment for you.

I am available to work with clients under the NDIS. I'm happy to see people under either self-managed or plan-managed plans.
I am available for telehealth or phone appointments across Australia if that is preferable. I can see clients for in-person sessions at the clinic in either Marrickville and Newtown.
Both Marrickville and Newtown practices are wheelchair accessible. Both are easily accessible by public transport - e.g., both practices have bus stops almost directly outside the clinics. There is also nearby street parking available for both practices.
